Sokolov, former German Falkenau, is a
town of 24.500 inhabitants, located in the
nortwestern Bohemia, the Egerland.
We find a city without character, without
identity. The city lost something on its way
through history, what is not to be found
anymore.
What is the typical attribute, or better,
which elements compose the city?
In a first step we will do an extensive analysis
of the city.
In a second step we will compare this findings
with the statistical datas, the personal
perceptions and the habits of the local
population.
Is there any correlation between the lack of
built identity and social identification?
In a third step we will project in different
locations of the city: by building, social,
functional, spatial, cultural, by landscape
etc.
